!*FIRSTNAME*!
Happy New Year
Welcome to the first TrainerBase update (number 247) of 2009.
Many of the pundits within the media along with government are
telling us that 2009 is going to be a challenging year. Bring it on:).
Last year ended on a high for the Association as we have increased
our membership by 20% and our revenues by 40% over the year.
TrainerBase has high hopes for the Association and its members and
expects to increase the value of contracts won via the site from the
estimated (based on our own research) £1.65 million to over £2 million.
Key to this is our new Commercial Manager, Barry who will have a focus
on purchasers and raising awareness of the benefits of using the
Association to source independent trainers including expansion of the
Brokering Service recently trialled successfully.
TrainerBase is pursuing a number of avenues including ISO, SFEDI, LSC
and QCA with regards to The Standard; the expectation is that it will
become a 'main stream' accreditation seen as the 'de facto' for the
independent sector. To find out more about how you can benefit from the
Standard and the CLP accreditation we have spaces left on the following
free workshop.
- Saturday 24th January 2009:
De Vere Venues, Staverton Park, Daventry Road, Staverton, Daventry,
Northamptonshire, NN11 6JT. Northampton and Rugby main line stations
are both approximately 12 miles away.
To book your place on either of these workshops please email
heatherg@trainerbase.co.uk
or call 01239 711544.
Purchasers are telling us that they are being more considered with
their budgets and are looking for ways of maximising their spend. Using
the Association will grow in popularity and CLP will become part of
their selection criteria.
All the best for 2009 and we look forward to:
Helping trainers find business and business find
trainers.

The following
have been posted on the site in the past
week or so:
Please do be aware that some opportunities are posted and then
removed before they appear in the weekly update. It is advisable to
check the site periodically as I do not always send out alerts. If you know of a friend who would be interested in any of the
opportunities posted on the site, please feel free to forward them this
email (not give them details of the opportunities) and ask them to use
this referral code when joining the site: - TB21!*USERID*!07. You will
be rewarded for referring the friend.
When considering applying for an opportunity, members should check
the requirements including; Subject, Sector Skills and Level Experience.
If you do not match the requirement you should not apply for the
opportunity, this practice is becoming very unpopular amongst purchasers
and other trainers.
If you are interested in using this facility as a way of sourcing
independent contractors but are not sure about the best way to approach
it, please feel free to email
info@trainerbase.co.uk.
Notice:
Opportunities are restricted information for subscribers only and
must not be distributed to non paying members or associate groups.

Somewhere in the region of 100 new 'subjects' were added to the
system last year. This year we are off to a good start as we have added
a new Sector Category - Financial Markets. The subjects within this are:
- Equity Markets:
Funding corporate growth through public share issues and ownership.
Also includes the trading of corporate ownership in order secure
returns beyond market expectations.
- Fixed Income:
Focusing on an investment strategy that secures, regular low risk
income (interest) without the aspect of corporate ownership. For
example, the Bond market.
- Portfolio (Fund) Management:
The construction and maintenance of a collection of assets that
together contribute to a singe investment strategy. This entails the
protection of returns through efficient risk management.
- Risk Management:
The financial models used and measures taken to offest adverse
markets conditions with regard to protection of investment returns.
- Derivatives:
The understanding of instruments that are derived from standard
equity and debt securities, also commodities, e.g. Futures, Options,
Swaps, etc.
- Compliance (Regulation):
Understanding the laws, conventions and trends that seek to protect
investors and ensure safe markets. A key area in current economic
circumstances!
- Investment Strategies:
The approaches taken to secure 'alpha' (above the expectation)
returns. These range from the simple and passive to complex and
active.
- Trading:
The offering here in one of understanding the attributes of a
successful Trader. This includes stock picking via fundamental
and/or technical analysis, position maintenance and risk management,
together with the necessary discipline with regard to market entry
and exit points.
Part of the Associations approach to getting more contracts for
members will be the development of ties with other sector organisations;
the Financial Markets being just one.

- Change Management, Management Development, Leadership, Business
Development, and Finance and Accounting, are the top searched for subject in
the past 28 days. A total of 127 different subjects were searched for.
- And what are the top keyword searches being used in the

name in your keywords?? I advise you to add it as this search facility
is being used to find individuals and it does not currently check any
other attributes other than the keywords field.
TrainerBase has started a major marketing
campaign to raise the profile of CLP amongst the 1,000+ purchasers listed as
wanting to be kept up to date with the Association. TrainerBase is also
actively seeking requests for recommendations within various digests and
online communities. And we are now receiving up to a dozen phone calls or
email requests a week for trainers or recommendations.
If you would like to be
part of these campaigns please
sign up to the CLP accreditation.
