working towards consultancy, design, development and
delivery of training interventions whose recipients are

The perfect place for trainers, learning
developers & training advisers
!*FIRSTNAME*!,
Welcome to your TrainerBase update
number 267.
An interesting turn of events appears to be happening, one presumes as a
result of the economic climate. Membership of the association has taken
a slight dip in the last couple of months yet the number of enquiries to
the office from purchasers and the number of opportunities posted on the
site has increased. What does all this mean? It means that those members
who continue to use the TrainerBase web site as a part of their
marketing are increasingly reaping the rewards of our ongoing presence
in the training purchasing community. More training going to fewer
members.
Close to 200 opportunities have been posted on the system so far this
year, an increase of 10% on last year. Recently, one opportunity posted
is expected to result in £250,000 worth of work for 20+ trainers that
applied and one expression of interest posted today has a value tag of
£30,000. And members are reporting that 50%+ of their work via the site
is direct from purchasers as opposed to via opportunities posted on the
sit. All this is contributing to the expected £2+ million worth of work
contracted as a direct result of the site.
We cannot deny that times are tough, but training is still being bought
and purchasers are looking to the TrainerBase web site to find trainers.
Membership to the Learning Practitioners' Association and an active
presence on the TrainerBase web site is paying significant dividends.
A growing number of current and potential members have asked for
details of the benefits for membership of the Association. To this end
we
have created a page on our .info site that we will keep updated on what
you get.
If you are considering membership or renewal and want to see just how
much value there is (over and above the £2+ million in contracts) in being part of the Association please visit the
Business Case page.
And as you are now aware a major engagement with 1,000+ training
purchasers has started which will result that even more contracts will
be won via the site.
We have become aware that some members are missing
opportunities posted on the site. Whilst we endeavour to send out
regular alerts and updates, members should check out the site regularly
to see what is happening. Once an advertiser closes an opportunity we
are not able to put forward anyone making contact direct to us.
Please do be aware that some opportunities are posted and then
removed before they appear in the weekly update. It is advisable to
check the site periodically as I do not always send out alerts. If you know of a friend who would be interested in any of the
opportunities posted on the site, please feel free to forward them this
email (not give them details of the opportunities) and ask them to use
this referral code when joining the site: - TB21!*USERID*!07. You will
be rewarded for referring the friend.
When considering applying for an opportunity, members should check
the requirements including; Subject, Sector Skills and Level Experience.
If you do not match the requirement you should not apply for the
opportunity, this practice is becoming very unpopular amongst purchasers
and other trainers.
If you are interested in using this facility as a way of sourcing
independent contractors but are not sure about the best way to approach
it, please feel free to email
info@trainerbase.co.uk.

News stories
News stories are one of the most cost effective methods of promotion.
You get the opportunity to shout about what you are doing, your
successes and up and coming events and activities. What is stopping you
from sending us your news stories? What we are looking for is:
New appointments
Success stories
Events
Major contracts
New products
Your news story could be on the TrainerBase news page which is
visited thousands of time a month. And if there is a TrainerBase angle
to the story (the success was as a result of your membership), then we
will endeavour to get the story on
TrainingPressReleases web site as
well.
TrainerBase has 2 forums for dialogue and discussion; the Discuss
page in the Common links is the open forum for all users; the Members'
Forum is for subscribers only to comment and share information that is
more commercially sensitive or specific to the Association.

So when was the last time you checked your Keywords in Edit
Profile, to ensure you are being found? And how many of you have your
name in your keywords?? I advise you to add it as this search facility
is being used to find individuals and it does not currently check any
other attributes other than the keywords field. And the search facility
also looks at resources uploaded to the site. Do you have something you
would like to share with fellow users. When you upload the file make
sure the description is keyword rich.
New members continue to join the Association, post Open
Courses,
Custom Programmes and upload
Resources that they wish to share with both fellow trainers and
purchasers of training.
Do check out the site regularly; content changes on a daily basis.
