The Learning Practitioners Association: representing
all individuals substantially engaged in or actively
working towards consultancy, design, development and
delivery of training interventions whose recipients are
outside statutory education.
The perfect place for trainers, learning
developers & training advisers
!*FIRSTNAME*!,
Welcome to your TrainerBase update
number 268.
Its official; TrainerBase Ltd is now called The Learning Practitioners'
Association Ltd.
The name change is part of the evolution of TrainerBase from a web site
to the Association as a representative body. Given that 'Association' is
a restricted word for a company, the directors were required to provide
sufficient supporting evidence that TrainerBase Ltd was indeed a trade
association. This was successfully accomplished and permission was
granted (by the Secretary of State) for the name change.
The TrainerBase web site will remain as a key service offered by the
Association and will contribute to the Association fulfilling its Core
Aims.
We have embarked on a root and branch review of our position, branding
and marketing and will announce further changes as they happen.
A growing number of current and potential members have asked for
details of the benefits for membership of the Association. To this end
we
have created a page on our .info site that we will keep updated on what
you get.
If you are considering membership or renewal and want to see just how
much value there is (over and above the £2+ million in contracts) in being part of the Association please visit the
Business Case page.
And as you are now aware a major engagement with 1,000+ training
purchasers has started which will result that even more contracts will
be won via the site.
We have become aware that some members are missing
opportunities posted on the site. Whilst we endeavour to send out
regular alerts and updates, members should check out the site regularly
to see what is happening. Once an advertiser closes an opportunity we
are not able to put forward anyone making contact direct to us.
Please do be aware that some opportunities are posted and then
removed before they appear in the weekly update. It is advisable to
check the site periodically as I do not always send out alerts. If you know of a friend who would be interested in any of the
opportunities posted on the site, please feel free to forward them this
email (not give them details of the opportunities) and ask them to use
this referral code when joining the site: - TB21!*USERID*!07. You will
be rewarded for referring the friend.
When considering applying for an opportunity, members should check
the requirements including; Subject, Sector Skills and Level Experience.
If you do not match the requirement you should not apply for the
opportunity, this practice is becoming very unpopular amongst purchasers
and other trainers.
If you are interested in using this facility as a way of sourcing
independent contractors but are not sure about the best way to approach
it, please feel free to email
info@trainerbase.co.uk.
Notice:
Opportunities are restricted information for subscribers only and
must not be distributed to non paying members or associate groups.
The World of Learning Conference & Exhibition is the
premier event to discover the essential suppliers, skills, inspiration,
ideas and advice to ensure you are delivering the L&D solutions your
organisation needs to stay ahead.
News stories
News stories are one of the most cost effective methods of promotion.
You get the opportunity to shout about what you are doing, your
successes and up and coming events and activities. What is stopping you
from sending us your news stories? What we are looking for is:
Your news story could be on the TrainerBase news page which is
visited thousands of time a month. And if there is a TrainerBase angle
to the story (the success was as a result of your membership), then we
will endeavour to get the story on
TrainingPressReleases web site as
well.
TrainerBase has 2 forums for dialogue and discussion; the Discuss
page in the Common links is the open forum for all users; the Members'
Forum is for subscribers only to comment and share information that is
more commercially sensitive or specific to the Association.

So when was the last time you checked your Keywords in Edit
Profile, to ensure you are being found? And how many of you have your
name in your keywords?? I advise you to add it as this search facility
is being used to find individuals and it does not currently check any
other attributes other than the keywords field. And the search facility
also looks at resources uploaded to the site. Do you have something you
would like to share with fellow users. When you upload the file make
sure the description is keyword rich.
New members continue to join the Association, post Open
Courses,
Custom Programmes and upload
Resources that they wish to share with both fellow trainers and
purchasers of training.
Do check out the site regularly; content changes on a daily basis.
