The Learning Practitioners Association: representing all individuals substantially engaged in or actively working towards consultancy, design, development and delivery of training interventions whose recipients are outside statutory education.

The trusted place for trainers, learning developers & training advisers

!*FIRSTNAME*!,

Welcome to your TrainerBase update 278.

What can you do for you?

Last week I gave a summary of the activities, services and benefits that the Association provide the membership. The list of benefits was long and varied suggesting savings on services worth £100s and contract values for successful members of £1,000s. But membership is not just about what we can do for you; the premise of the TrainerBase web site and all marketing for that matter is what you can do for yourself. And as has been identified recently; there is a huge amount most members should be doing (but aren't) to raise their profile.

We are currently conducting the Profile Diagnostics having identified that less than half of member profiles are 'fit for purpose' (according to purchasers).

We have put up a number of Member Tips (user guides) so that members have help on what they need to do to raise their profile. There are a few more to come.

But we would also like to provide a couple more opportunities for members to showcase themselves.

Case Studies

The first activity that we would like to encourage is for any member that has benefited in any way from the membership of the Association and their presence on the TrainerBase web site to provide us with a case study. Whilst this is good for the Association, it will also provide further information to purchasers who are looking for deciding factors in sourcing new providers.

To get the ball rolling I have published the first Case Study.

Do you have something similar? The case study could be about a new contract, or perhaps a change in working practice as a result of advice. The article should be in the region of 300 - 700 words. Be as expansive as you can; as I said this is about you having the opportunity to shout about you (something that I feel some trainers are a little reluctant to do).

Trainer Interviews

The second activity that we would like to conduct is to interview trainers.

To get the ball rolling I have published the first Trainer Interview.

Do you have something to say about your contribution to an area of endeavour? We would be pleased to read your interview responses to the questions posed on the interview page and publish these on the Internet.

The Learning Practitioners' Association provides a number of platforms for members to showcase themselves either on the Internet or though other channels. But it is up to individual members to contribute; there is no point in having a shop that is empty. The Case Studies and Trainer Interviews are 2 more platforms for member to raise their profile. We look forward to your contributions.

Profile views

One last thing. I have uploaded an article on how you can find out who has been viewing your profile with a view to building up your prospects list. Read the article on our .info site.

I haven't said this for a while but "onwards and upwards".
